Elisa Pyfrom
Estate Agent
Eleuthera

Elisa's Pyfrom's gardens in Governor's Harbour, Eleuthera are always in bloom.

On the left as you drive down the one-way road from the top of the hill, Elisa's gardens are... well, in a word, spectacular. In fact, if you are wondering why road traffic tends to slow halfway down, the reason is tourists stopping to admire the brilliant colours in the tropicals dominating the spacious grounds.

People from the whole island know that if they can't think of the name of that plant, Elisa can.

Elisa comes by her love of plants naturally. Her mother is one of the Bahamas' leading horticulturalists, long a source of the best bromeliads and palms.

Her home... and gardens... are a work in progress, a very beautiful one. She has created an enchanting living space for herself from what was previously the summer kitchen of one of the historic properties of Governor's Harbour. The main estate house on the property has long since disappeared, and its old foundation is now the domain of dozens of varieties of plants, lovingly cultivated.

Elisa's family's roots are well-set into Eleuthera soil. Coming to the island in the early 1700's, the Pyfrom family grew pineapples in the rich red soil, shipping them by clipper ship to the markets of New York. As gardener farmers, they prospered and still continue to do so as one of the Bahamas' venerable families. The Pyfrom name is now associated with some of the best businesses in the Bahamas, particularly construction and the law.

Elisa began her real estate career with HGChristie in 1995, after moving to Eleuthera from Nassau and a few years as a world traveler. She quickly became known as a person who could be depended on for definitive information about Eleuthera.

Her white truck is a familiar sight all over Eleuthera. Chances are that if Elisa doesn't know about a backroad, a hidden beach, or the special property you are trying to find, it probably doesn't exist.

It's no coincidence that Elisa is considered one of the best of the best when it comes to working on behalf of her client. She is very well known among her clientele as being thorough with detail, never hesitant to speak her mind about a potential problem, and always reliable for either having or efficiently hunting down anything needed, plus a lot more.

Elisa says that she considers that if a client is going to be a neighbour, then they must be very happy with their eventual choice.

And who knows, you may be lucky enough to buy your new Eleuthera home just as her bromeliads are ready to transplant!
