 Looking to 2004...

At H.G. Christie we believe that 2004 will be a strong year for the property market in the Bahamas.

We are all in a festive mood because it seems that the market is truly turning around with sales on the rise in almost every category. Top-of-the-market islands and resorts, all the way to small single family homes are now briskly selling. Properties that have been sitting on the market for some time now had two or three buyers vie for them, and they are getting sold.

What does this mean for you?

This movement will most likely signify the change from a buyers' market to a sellers' market.

If you have been thinking about buying a house, it means that any deals that were around are going to be fewer and farther between. Now is the time to catch the property at its current levels before the property prices increase. This also means less homes on the market and therefore the prices will increase.

As well, there are a number of new developments in the islands coming on stream, signaling a new level of luxury real estate at a level that has never been seen before in the Bahamas.

On the 14th of December the prime minister of The Bahamas opened the Four Seasons Resort in Exuma. (our listing #4662). This is the first resort of its type for over 30 years to open its door in the out islands.

And there are more to follow. The Abaco Club on Winding Bay, Abaco is off to a great start, building one of the finest links golf courses anywhere in the world with large beach front and waterfront lots for sale set in a pristine island-like setting (our listing 5102)

Also on Exuma, the ultimate Retreat of Crab Cay is coming online. This island will offer super exclusive yet natural lifestyles destined to be unsurpassed anywhere in The Bahamas with a Mega yacht marina and Club, super large estate lots of 2 to 4 acres, five star service all only minutes from George Town by custom Hinkley Ferry. For more details on Crab Cay please contact me at john@hgchristie.com.

On Eleuthera, Club Med was also sold and will be transformed into "French Leave", (The former name of the property). In an unbelievable setting, with one of the most amazing beaches in The Bahamas, French Leave will offer Luxury villas with a five star resort, located within walking distance of the quaint and historic Governors Harbour.

For more information on any of these amazing new Out Island properties please drop us a line at sales@hgchristie.com.

We take this opportunity to thank you for your patronage in the last year, and to wish you the best of fortunes in the upcoming 2004.

Best regards,

John Christie, VP
